Never Fully Dressed

November 4, 2011 § 2 Comments

Never Fully Dressed is a brand to watch! Celebrities like Stacey Solomon and Fearne Cotton have been spotted wearing their clothes on a numerous occasions and their products have been published in various magazine editorials.

And even if you are not chasing after the celebrity endorsed goodies, you will just as easily fall in love with the clothes. For me, what makes them special is the simplicity of design (easy going pieces that you can pile on) as well as colour selection.

My two favourite pieces that represent the brand really well are the Ostrich Feather Waistcoat, £85 which comes in different shades of blue, purple, brown, green and black;  and a Sheer Shirt/Blouse (as I once said that is the cool trend this season with a very odd name – Blirt) that is also available in varied colour and patters at £38. Both come in one size only which creates that relaxed feel of the outfit. Both have been styled with leather trousers, but if you are not ready to take that step why don’t you try wet look leggings instead?

Visit the website http://www.neverfullydressed.co.uk to brighten up your Autumn/Winter wardrobe. (Plus 100% profit from some of the items on offer goes to charity, like the profits from the purple shirt above).

Online Outlet Special: Cocosa

October 30, 2011 § Leave a comment

My second online outlet favourite is http://www.COCOSA.com – a members only fashion outlet filled with exciting sale events. A highlight of this website – ability to preview sale items before the sale opens that makes you want to rush to your computer ever day at 7am to check up new offerings.

With a wide range of sales going on it was hard to pick my favourites (harder than deciding who to send home on this years X factor). Nevertheless here are my 3 finalists, I mean dresses, currently available online:

1. Jenny Packham Short Multi Sequin Dress at £462 which is an amazing 83% off (originally £2799). Luxurious statement piece that I would not mind wearing (to say the least) for the upcoming winter holidays celebrations.

2. Felder Felder Vessna Dress – a beautiful cotton pastel dress with abstract pattern, perfect for taking you from day to night. Currently at £128 which is a 70% discount.

3. Emma Cook silk printed jewel dress would look great with chunky ankle boots – at £159 which is a great 52% off.

Visit the website to see more deals like Stephen Webster Jewellery and clothing range by Milly.

Jacket Obsession: Designer and Bargain

October 19, 2011 § Leave a comment

I am absolutely obsessed with Rebecca Minkoff Abbey Biker Jacket (top picture). It has a great combination of textures: leather, wool and fur. And it is definitely on trend with contrasting leather sleeves!

My favourite part is how easy it is to create an outfit around it – just throw on black skinny jeans and ‘tough’ dark leather boots for an outfit with attitude. Or wear with a single colour maxi dress for an edgy feel! However you do it, it is obvious the jacket will get a few wears to justify its price tag of $998 (£635 from http://www.rebeccaminkoff.com).

But if you are looking for a bargain with similar textured features and biker feel, opt for Black Faux Fur Jacket from Diamond By Julien Macdonald for Debenhams – just £65!

What Topshop Got Right

October 18, 2011 § Leave a comment

Well, Topshop gets a lot of things right, let’s not question that. But out of the whole range it has provided us this Autumn (and admittedly as a king of fast fashion it has given us a massive amount to choose from), there is one particular thing that sticks out as ‘spot on’. And that is the beautiful print dresses.

Here I want to highlight two dresses that epitomise this year’s fabulous Topshop design – Wallpaper Ombre Midi Shirt Dress and Multi Animal Print Ombre Dress (£80 ans £50 respectively). If you only buy two things from the store, stick to these – they are what I call the ‘easy to wear’ pieces meaning once you put them on you do not have to spend much time on picking the right shoes or doing your hair – anything will go because these dresses already make the outfit on their own. Hence, easy to wear!

Let’s Go Ethnic!

October 15, 2011 § Leave a comment

Ethnic prints are everywhere. I bet you have already noticed the ladies (and the gentlemen) of fashion adopt the trend – Chloe Sevigny, Leighton Meester and Rihanna to name a few.

For me there is one fashion brand that hit the nail on the head particularly well – Proenza Schouler. From its reincarnation of PS1 bag in ethnic print to dresses, skirts, jumpers and any other garment you can think of – the label is rocking the ethnic trend! And if you can afford the prices, you will be absolutely spoiled for choice.

But, this blog post is about finding the trendy pieces without blowing your bank. Here is my top 3 picks:

1. Multi Print One shoulder Maxi dress, £68 from Topshop.

2. Sale item, ASOS Ikat Leggings for just £12.

3. Lykke Navaho Pussybow Blouse from boohoo.com for £20.

Happy Weekend Shopping!

The Fashionable Way To Go About Halloween

October 12, 2011 § Leave a comment

HALLOWEEN SPECIAL

You do not have to purchase a fancy dress costume to look fantastic on Halloween. Sometimes it is possible to find a few pieces at your normal shopping destination. Here is my example that will hopefully encourage you to look around for unique outfits. And since you put it together yourself there is no danger of someone arriving to the party wearing exactly the same costume.

I remembered that this summer feathers were very popular during the festival season, so I decided to look for a native American looking head piece and create an outfit around it. After a quick search I came across this wonderful Elmstone Peacock Feather Crown on http://www.pretaportobello.com available for £38. And a browse through Asos for anything ‘fringe’ revealed a few pages of results, my favourite of which is this Reverse Kaftan at £55.

So after deciding which of the available trends I can covert into a Halloween costume it did not take long before I was ready for the party. And with these types of outfits – you can wear individual pieces more than once! Also if you find yourself the only dressed up person in the room, by simply removing the head piece you turn from the Queen of Halloween to fashionista – especially with this techno-ethnic print kaftan.

Set your imagination free!

Are you having a TRASHY Halloween?

October 12, 2011 § 2 Comments

HALLOWEEN SPECIAL

Let me start by clarifying – Trashy is an amazing lingerie and sexy fancy dress brand from Los Angeles. I fell in love with their costumes while getting ready for last year’s Halloween when I stumbled across their brand at Angel’s, London’s biggest fancy dress store. The costumes fit perfectly and looked amazing – I loved them so much I went to visit their store while in Los Angeles. And they did not disappoint!

Most costumes are made to order and cost around $300 (£200) but currently online it is possible to purchase already made costumes that you will receive in time for Halloween. They are also selling bargain costumes that have been imported into US but were made from the original designs. Those start at just $60 (£40).

The choice is astonishing – from birds to princesses and from maids to sailors. And the best thing about them – they are by far the sexiest Halloween costumes you can ever get your hands on (just look at all the celebrities that chose the brand). Good luck making your pick!

The Coolest Item this Autumn

October 6, 2011 § Leave a comment

I can not take my eyes of this oversized burgundy coloured Acne leather vest. It ticks all the boxes – burgundy is a very hot colour right now, leather is very in, Acne is a cool brand, and oversized is the right style this autumn.

And the best thing – there are so many items you can wear it with – jeans, maxi skirts, turtle necks, printed tees, plain tops and even jumpers. I would put on skinny jeans with cashmere jumper to create an interesting texture combination as well as a very comfy autumn look.

Purchase from http://www.net-a-porter.com for £1390 (investment piece indeed as you will get a lot of wear out of this multifunctional item).

The IT Fabric of the Season

October 6, 2011 § 1 Comment

If you are not wearing it yet, you are too far behind. Seriously.

It’s Velvet. Very old fashioned I hear you say? Well in fashion it all comes back around. And yes I agree, I am not fashionista enough to engulf myself in velvet from head to toe either. And if you do not have a velvet skirt or cardigan lying around than follow my lead and select garments with hint of velvet.

Like this beautiful Asos shirt with velvet trim and crystal embellished collar (attention is on the collar as well – another trend box this shirt ticks). I am wearing one right now. And my advise – make it more decent by adding a black tank top or camisole underneath. That way you can wear it to work too!

Purchase it from http://www.asos.com for £40.

The Must-Have Cape

September 26, 2011 § Leave a comment

There is one trend this autumn that is making me very happy. The cape is back. Last time capes were really ‘in’, it was 2008. And by the time I bought a perfect Thomas Burberry one (yes that Burberry line that was stopped for underperforming in recession in 2009) the capes were already ‘out’.

So now that it seems we have at least a season to run around the city wearing one I dug out my classic dark grey wool cape that has been patiently waiting for its moment to shine. And if you do not keep clothes around for as long as me you should invest into one. How about this Burberry Brit cape available from net-a-porter for £595?
