Celebrity Dress For a Fraction of the Price
September 21, 2011 § 2 Comments
Scarlett Johansson has been my celebrity style crush for a while. So while checking out one of my favourite ‘as seen on stars’ websites – http://www.mcberry.co.uk I came across the Glamorous Lace Dress section. And a few have been inspired by Scarlett!
Here is my pick – the green lacy strapless number (only my favourite dress shape of all time). Plus its green and lacy which goes very well with A/W 11 trends! Grazia team loves it too and featured it in their magazine. So if you want to boost your star power visit the website where this dress is available at £85.
Plaid-Up for Autumn!
August 26, 2011 § 1 Comment
I am very much in love with Autumn/Winter 11 Celine collection – especially the blue/green plaids. Of course this being my fashion wishlist I can just add those items and talk in volumes about Celine and the coolest plaid trousers ever. But I would rather show an item that is definitely making it from the wishlist to my wardrobe – American Apparel Celine inspired Chiffon oversized blouse.
It is awesome. Not only does it do justice to the plaid trend it is also a massive fab of this season – it is a perfect BLIRT (i.e. blouse and shirt, I would rather abstain from using fashion language but I just love the word!) And apart from being on trend it is also very multipurpose – wear with a skirt, leggings, jeans, jeggings (you saw it coming), as a dress, a night gown, roll the sleeves up, tie the bottom up etc. Who would not spare £52 for such an investment? (Plus it is currently on promotion and you get £4 of when you spend £50 by entering BTS1 code on the check out).
P.S. Happy Bank Holiday Weekend!
Oversized Knits Are So In!

Michael Kors, Stella McCartney and YSL are just a few brands that featured oversized knits in their Autumn/Winter 11 collections. But if we want to go for a cheaper option, this jumper by French Connection is THE go to item! Currently at reduced price of £39 and all the sizes available online, it is absolutely irresistible and a must addition to the wardrobe.
It has a perfect length – could be worn with jeans as a jumper and as a knitted dress with thick tights for a more wintery feel. It is those kind of clothes that make me excited about fast approaching autumn!
Let’s Dress Up as…MEN!

Androgynous trend is one of the biggest this season. I am not up for major dressing up, but a few pieces here and there will create a perfect look.
Here is my favourite (so far) male-like item of clothing that I can imagine myself wearing as soon as the temperature drops to usual autumn level (to tell you the truth I can not imagine ever taking it off). It is a beautiful Stella McCartney navy wool coat. I believe it is an investment – it is hard to justify spending £1055 on http://www.net-a-porter.com otherwise.
This coat is a ticket into the new season, time to get the Autumn gear out!
We Are Handsome

Lucky me – I’m going on an amazing holiday in two and a half weeks. And since it is still August I am sure I am not alone in searching the web for the best swim suits out there that can make me look better than all my friends who have already taken their summer breaks and brought back tons of pictures to flaunt. Well, I found it!
First of all this summer is all about wearing one piece swim suits. No you can’t get a good tan in them but wow you can look fabulous even if you had a large taste of foreign cuisine the night before. And clearly a one piece swimsuit winner has to be We Are Handsome. Luxurious fabrics, beautiful colours and prints that will make you stand out of the crowd – no wonder celebrities love it! Rihanna was wearing Protector style on her Caribbean holiday and she looked fab!
So this is clearly my choice – The Dutch Printed swimsuit with zip detail, exclusive to http://www.net-a-porter.com that will set you back a mere £210. I can already picture myself looking awesome by the pool somewhere in California…
New Kid on the Block

Finders Keepers is an Australian brand that makes young fashionable clothes that are full of life and colour. After becoming a success story Down Under, the affordable label is moving into UK by opening a concession in Harvey Nichols.
With no brand awareness prior to hearing the news I was pleasantly surprised looking through their online gallery – beautiful party dresses, cool shorts and chic blouses all reasonably priced (dresses roughly £60). My favourite piece, shown above is a On the Road Shirt Dress that epitomises Australian fashion – laid back yet very stylish.
I have a good feeling – this brand will fit well in UK, we love our laid back clothing that shows we care but do not obsess over it. The only question is the price positioning of the brand as it tries to expand, if it stays in the affordable region Harvey Nichols might not promote it to mass market, but nevertheless it is a good place to start.
It’s all about furrrrrr (faux of course)
August 10, 2011 § Leave a comment
I am a massive fan of fur coats. I am also a massive fan of living creatures. Hence I say ‘No’ to real fur and stick to faux – it feels guilt-free and is way cheaper!
Despite the weather new season clothing is hitting the stores – hence time to stock up on autumn/winter goodies. This foxy jacket is from asos, costs £70 and is featured in their special autumn coats edit. I must admit I am in love: simple style and absolutely beautiful colour that is so ‘in’ this season, what’s not to love?
The most important thing of course is the feel of it – faux fur needs to look good! The better it looks the more people will opt out of wearing real fur and that is the way forward! So I am waiting for my asos delivery and thanks to easy returns I will choose weather the quality of the jacket that looks oh-so-hot online is up to scratch. Will let you know!
UPDATE: I received it. It’s better than I expected – soft, warm and looks amazing on!
Lavish Florals from lavishalice.com

This cute floral jumpsuit is a perfect reminder that we are still in early August and hence have enough time to purchase and wear summery fashion. Floral print is so in this season – just a quick look at some of the spring/summer collections like Dolce & Gabbana or a glance through a fashion magazine prove it.
If you don’t have a floral piece already head to lavishalice.com – it is filled with summery florals in all shapes and forms: from chiffon dresses to skinny jeans. This cut out jumpsuit is £30 and that is relatively expensive compared to the rest of the range making the website a great destination for little mid week shopping therapy that won’t break your bank!
The Star of Dolce & Gabbana

Star print is back. Which is great because I have a perfect star print summer dress somewhere in the depths of my closet. And after hearing that heat wave is back in UK this weekend its time to call in a search team!
This particular star print dress by Dolce & Gabbana is a star on its own. Jessie J appeared in it on the cover of this month’s Cosmopolitan magazine. Fergie of Black Eyed Piece just wore a variation of it to Teen Choice Award. And I was mesmerised by it walking past the brand’s store on Sloane Street. It’s so simple yet will make you stand out. Add a few colourful accessories and you are sorted.
Available at http://www.matchesfashion.com for £780. Would never style it with the same shoes they did on the website though, this dress is not made for simple black courts, even if they are Christian Louboutin simple black courts.
