Millie + Lipsy

March 29, 2012 § 1 Comment

Whether you are a fan of London based reality show Made in Chelsea or not, there is one thing everyone will agree on – Millie Mackintosh is gorgeous. In fact so gorgeous that after seeing her model the new range of Lipsy VIP dresses I could not wait to get my hands on them: I am once again excited about Lipsy creations, and that has not happened for over a 6 months! They are not your day to day party dresses – in fact VIP range is perfect for special occasions and now that the wedding season is approaching, I would recommend you go no further for the outfit of choice than Lipsy’s website. Beautiful and impact-making dresses come in both mini and maxi lengths and give you great choice of fabrics. Plus each dress gives you a different focus: feathers, lace, tutu skirt, embellished, scalloped, sequined, printed – just pick what S/S12 trend you want to follow and grab one of them before they get away!

Below is my selection of favourite pieces from the collection to inspire you to have a look at the entire range at

  1. Rouched Bust Dip Dye Prom Dress, £120
  2. Waxed Lace Feather Dress, £110
  3. Scalloped Edge Sequin Dress, £120
  4. Flower Bust Maxi Dress, £130
  5. Sweetheart Embellished Neckline Ruched Maxi Dress, £130
  6. Printed Embellished Maxi Dress, £130

The Fashionable Way To Go About Halloween

October 12, 2011 § Leave a comment

You do not have to purchase a fancy dress costume to look fantastic on Halloween. Sometimes it is possible to find a few pieces at your normal shopping destination. Here is my example that will hopefully encourage you to look around for unique outfits. And since you put it together yourself there is no danger of someone arriving to the party wearing exactly the same costume.

I remembered that this summer feathers were very popular during the festival season, so I decided to look for a native American looking head piece and create an outfit around it. After a quick search I came across this wonderful Elmstone Peacock Feather Crown on available for £38. And a browse through Asos for anything ‘fringe’ revealed a few pages of results, my favourite of which is this Reverse Kaftan at £55.

So after deciding which of the available trends I can covert into a Halloween costume it did not take long before I was ready for the party. And with these types of outfits – you can wear individual pieces more than once! Also if you find yourself the only dressed up person in the room, by simply removing the head piece you turn from the Queen of Halloween to fashionista – especially with this techno-ethnic print kaftan.

Set your imagination free!
