Christmas Special: Choosing The Dress
November 20, 2012 § Leave a comment
Today the realisation hit me – it is just over a month left until Christmas and I haven’t produced any holiday related content on my blog, let alone done any real life Christmas preparation. So I decided to start with all important choice of holiday outfits for ourselves, since we all know that is what we are all secretly looking forward to the most: our holiday wardrobe! Since I only have one month left and a whole bunch of Christmas related decisions to make I am doing this one the easy way. You can shop around for hours going from store to store to choose a dress, but sometimes you do not have to sacrifice the selection while shopping under one roof from great pre-selected range, cutting all the time wasting out. This is what I did today – I headed to department store House of Fraser which surprised me with the selection: there are literally thousands of dresses!

2. Adrianna Papell evening strapless V shape draped dress, £200
3. Coast Lavender maxi, £180
4. Bastyan May maxi dress, £325
5. Biba High neck pleated maxi, £189
6. Ted Baker Callen pleated maxi dress, £199

Mango Maxis

The spring has sprung. Hence it is time to find spring buys that can help once and for all leave the wintery outfits behind and recharge our wardrobes. This time I turn to Mango for help updating the skirt selection. I have spoken volumes about midi pleated skirts a few weeks ago (read more here) but it does not mean we have to wave goodbye to pleats of different lengths. Maxis are still full on trend this season so I found four perfect spring must-haves by Mango.
1 and 3 (£44.99) are perfect to add the pastel trend to your wardrobe – wear them by day with your favourite cotton tee or combine with complementing pastel colour silk tops and statement necklaces for totally fashionable evening wear.
2 (£39.99) is a total find – this is the rock chic solution to spring romanticism: black with leathery finish yet strangely feminine, you wont regret this buy.
4 (£49.99) has a denim feel to it yet is light and perfect even for the hottest day of the year – match with your favourite Converse or Superga trainers for a sporty feel.

Whether you are a fan of London based reality show Made in Chelsea or not, there is one thing everyone will agree on – Millie Mackintosh is gorgeous. In fact so gorgeous that after seeing her model the new range of Lipsy VIP dresses I could not wait to get my hands on them: I am once again excited about Lipsy creations, and that has not happened for over a 6 months! They are not your day to day party dresses – in fact VIP range is perfect for special occasions and now that the wedding season is approaching, I would recommend you go no further for the outfit of choice than Lipsy’s website. Beautiful and impact-making dresses come in both mini and maxi lengths and give you great choice of fabrics. Plus each dress gives you a different focus: feathers, lace, tutu skirt, embellished, scalloped, sequined, printed – just pick what S/S12 trend you want to follow and grab one of them before they get away!
Below is my selection of favourite pieces from the collection to inspire you to have a look at the entire range at www.lipsy.com.
