Goodbye Pastels!
September 25, 2012 § 6 Comments
That is it. I now think the summer is finally over. Thus I thought the time could not be more perfect to say goodbye to my favourite trend of the last season – pastels – with one last summer outfit, one going totally over the top with all the soft ice cream colours that I have been wearing past couple of months. And here it is, on one of the last warm days I put together super pastel explosion and took a photo for you to have a look. I am wearing baby pink cropped oversized tank from American Apparel, skinny mint Leigh trousers from Topshop and Converse trainers I designed myself using their online tool and blogged about the experience earlier this year here. Accessories-wise I am wearing pink and green Allumette necklace by Allumer (1), Dior ring (2), ASOS perspex bag I also mentioned a few months ago here (3), Beta silk scarf that is printed with symmetrical geometrical print in beautiful pastel colours (4, check out their entire collection here), Timex pastel watch as mentioned here (5) and ASOS gummy bracelets once again in combination of pastel colours (6).
The best thing, even though I am saying goodbye to this palette for the vivid colours of Autumn/Winter 2012, I am happy to store those garments for the next spring when thanks to a number of shows recently seen in New York and London, the palette is going to come back. So see you soon pastels!
The Ragged Priest

Close your eyes and imagine what really cool urban fashion looks like right now. (Now open them and carry on reading.) Nowadays the coolest items out there are covered in studs, are pastel, have a bit of dip/tie dye thing going on and are either cropped or totally oversized (perfect length and fit are so not in). And surprise surprise there is just the brand that this season has put all of those elements together and created the most perfect on trend denim collection ever. Meet The Ragged Priest.
I noticed the brand last season – wool jumpers patched up with studded leather, dark colours and a lot of denim looked interesting. But it was not until a few months ago, once revealing S/S12 collection Ragged Priest exploded – all the cool girls in town are wearing it and our favourite celebrity crushes are promoting the brand world wide (think about studded pieces Rihanna and Jessy J wore recently and chances are they were created by this brand).
But the coolness does not stop there – each piece starts off as a vintage items that is transformed to its new look (you can so steal some of the creative ideas for DIY fashion) making the exact size/colour/pattern more or less unique. And the prices are totally cool as well – completely in the high street range despite being way cooler (pardon my slight obsession with how cool this brand is).
So if you like my picks, check out the whole range at their online boutique. 1. Candy Striper Shirt, £45
2. Albino Sweatshirt Crop, £45
3. Bon Bon Gilet, £65
4. Gnarly Denim Jacket, £90
5. Limited Edition Shorts, £95
6. Toxic Waste Shorts, £40
7. Apple Jack Shorts, £65
My Perfect Watch
March 12, 2012 § 1 Comment
I am really not a watch person. I have a few, and they are beautiful and I love wearing them. Like once a month. But wearing watches on daily basis just isn’t my thing. Yet this time I am trying to change – watches are useful, especially when your phone runs out of battery and you are not in a good enough mood to engage random passer by in time related conversation.
So I was thinking what characteristics should a watch have to convert me. I had to start by considering what watch do I like the most out of the once I have? And no it is not the most expensive one. It’s actually a very old watch my grandpa used to wear all the time and then gave it to me because I loved it so much. It is retro through and through and it was manufactured in USSR way before I was born – metal strap, digital display, little battery which is being hold in place by a piece of sellotape. I love it. Hence I just have to go for a retro looking watch. Also it has to be fashionable and comfortable on the wrist.
And then I found it. My prefect Timex. First of all it is super retro. It is also very comfortable: it has a soft strap and is very light. And then it’s cool pastel colour makes it a perfect fashion accessory for this season. So here it is, yours for only £39. Who said perfection has to be expensive?
