MSGM on MFWL

Prints, colours and fairy-tale inspired lace – some of the hottest raw materials for creation of fashionable garment as of S/S12. And all of those have been organically combined into collection of Italian label – MSGM.
Design starts from traditional pieces that are found in every female closet, which are then updated and reworked to create pieces that keep up with fashion yet are truly versatile and wearable. And on top of that despite high quality and high-end designs, the brand keeps the prices affordable making it the one stop shop for updating your wardrobe with up to date fashion without breaking the bank – what else can a girl want?
And to top off already attractive offer, the brand, despite relative newness has already received praise from critics of the fashion world as Vogue Italia selected it as a finalist of Who’s On Next contest highlighting it as one of the best emerging collections.
So when you are looking for day-to-night (or work-to-cocktail-hour, if you prefer) dress, there is no better place to go than online store farfetch.com where the largest range of MSGM garments are available to purchase. The New Swimsuit

April 9, 2012 § Leave a comment

Happy Easter everyone! Have you been enjoying 4 days off? I definitely have been – getting together with friends, lounging around at home with my boyfriend, catching up on unseen films and favourite TV series and of course big Easter Sunday Roast (I was invited to attend, you would never see me making one myself, my kitchen skills are below average). And while I am in London for my 4 days off, some others managed to escape the city and head for far away beach destinations. Hence I was inspired to check out the hottest swimwear of the season and straight away went for my old favourite We Are Handsome, a brand famous for their photo-printed swimwear which appeared on my blog numerous times. And they did not disappoint – see my picks of one pieces below!

  1. £225
  2. £210
  3. £185
  4. £205

But not only did We Are Handsome not disappoint, they also started a trend for photo-printed swimwear after many celebrities including Rihanna were seen wearing their designs. Wildfox has a range of them now including a cat printed one piece, Topshop featured a few pieces online that will be available at the end of the month (exciting!) and finally ASOS providing items inspired by We Are Famous with an affordable price tag. Check out my selection of swimsuits from ASOS below and go on to their website to see many in bikini versions.

  1. Digital Beach Sean Cut Out Bandeau Suit, £40
  2. Palm Print Swimsuit, £35
  3. Cut Out Suit in Palm Print, was £40 now £32
  4. Palm Print Swimsuit, was £40 now £32

Motel’s Welcomed Achievement

Motel have outdone themselves. The brand has been known for a while for pretty and feminine party dresses but it has never before been truly fashionable. Until now. Their new season collection contains a dress that excites the fashion side of my brain – Zoe racer back dress with bold photographic prints. First of all I am a fan of photographic prints: for example my obsession with We Are Handsome bikinis prove this. Secondly I absolutely love the shape – simple yet feminine and definitely sexy it will fit for both day and night wear (for the day just match it with tights and an understated jacket and for night add a statement bag and killer heels). And thirdly they are £29 yet Motel did not cut corners and the back of the dress is also printed: improvement of the usual disappointment of purchasing the dress online only to realise the back of it is just black – shame knowing that I’m not in 2D. And fourthly, there is so much choice: from varied prints to length as you can pick a mini or midi style. Below are my favourites:

Motel Zoe Dress in Cityscape Print, £29
Motel Zoe Dress in Horses Print, £29
Motel Zoe Dress in Mountain Print, £29
Motel Zoe Dress in Poppy Field Print, £29

Those four and other print/length versions are available on ASOS.

The T-Shirt Crew

I have to admit my favourite item of clothing is cotton T-shirt: whether it is cropped, with cut off sleeves, racer back, plain colour, printed, has statement writing etc (Let’s just say my definition of T-shirt is not narrow and also includes vests, cropped styles and so on).

And I get excited whenever I see some realy cool additions to my collection that I can simply put on in the morning with my favourite jeans and sunnies and feel like a million bucks (that’s one of the reasons I am looking to one day move to LA, weather here in London hardly ever allows me to indulge in one-layer-of-clothing ensemble).

And I just have to share my finds with you – all these cool and highly affordable T-shirt are from Republic.com. So if you are in need to stock up on every day essentials, I am sure you would find a few others to add to your basket.

Canvas Beauties

In my previous post I blogged about rubber becoming the IT material for this season’s bags. Yet after coming across these canvas creations I am ready to give up both leather and rubber! Thursday Friday is a cool new brand creating canvas bags and pouches with prints of It bags: Chanel, Miu Miu and Balenciaga. The best thing – your gym, picnic or second overspill bag will never have to be boring and style-less again. I just love that these bags are both a fashion and anti-fashion items: tribute and opposition to the It bags they display. And unlike the originals they won’t cost a fortune. Large canvas bag called Super Together is $90 (approximately £57), original Together is $65 (approximately £41) and pouches called Here Pochettes are $35 each (£22).

I am planning to purchase Together and use it as a bag in it’s own right – the size is perfect as it will fit all the daily essentials plus a few magazines, laptop, change of shoes and of course a Here pouch filled with must-have beauty items. For example I absolutely can not leave the house without hand cream, lip balm, eyeliner and red lipstick. Have a look at the entire range and purchase them online at www.thufri.com.
