Welcome to the Zoo

Furry animal hats and hoods are everywhere. It is hard to pin point the inspiration for the animal shaped headgear, but nevertheless those pieces of furry cuteness are the way forward this winter. Started by US brand Spirit Hoods who claim you are transformed when you put it on, the hoods have been adopted by a whole range of celebrities – Justin Bieber, Kesha, Jessie J and Pink to name a few.
While you can grab yourself an original Spirit Hood, you can also go for (more wearable in my opinion) versions, which I absolutely love, as shown on the pictures above:
1. ASOS Faux Fur Bunny Ear Hat, £25
2. River Island Black Faux Fur Hat, £18
3. Sauce Mickey Ears Hat, £40
Bring out the inner animal in you!
Twillight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 Premier Fashion
November 23, 2011 § 1 Comment

First of all let me just say – I am a big Twilight Saga fan. But when it comes to fashion choices of the actors – I am slightly more critical.
As you probably noticed I do not usually comment on celebrity style, there are plenty of blogs that do that. But rules are there to be broken – hence here goes my styling analysis of the outfits three main actresses of the saga wore to the premiers. The reason why I believe it fits into my blog is that it is definitely on My Fashion Wishlist to dress up for a red carpet event, especially if I get to have the choice of gowns the lucky girls above get.
Kristen Stewart wore black lacy Roberto Cavalli and blue sequin J Mendel to London and New York Premiers and while the dresses looked absolutely fabulous and so did Kristen’s luminescent white skin, I have not seen anyone look that awkward in high heels on red carpet for a while. I understand the whole ‘lets-rebel-against-fame’ thing, but please Kristen learn how to walk in heels as it is very disrespectful to the designer (and your stylist who probably cries each night into her pillow) to put Nike sneakers on red carpets after sucking it up for 5 minutes only.
Nikki Reed opted for pale green Marchesa and neon Michael Kors. She looked too old for her age in the Marchesa but was stunning in futuristic cut out gown. Dressing for your age is vital – you are young and beautiful only once!
Ashley Green wore custom made Donna Karan gowns for both events. While asymmetric cut out gown made Ashley stand out, her second outfit was another disappointment – red full length dress made her look shapeless and added a few kilograms to petit Ashley due to asymmetric fabric folds.
There is one more film to go and hopefully after 4 practice runs the fashion on the premier of the final installment of the saga will tick all the right boxes. Chances are we won’t see Kristen in a dress before that anyway.
The It Bag From High Street
November 22, 2011 § Leave a comment
And it is not just a high street bag that looks like an It bag, it is an It bag in its own right. This Zara Shopper made a big entrance this summer – simple and spacious it attracted a big following straight away, including Olivia Palermo who has a few in different colours. (Olivia Palermo is my ultimate style crush especially as she is not afraid to add some high street into her outfit. Love it and do it!)
And now the bag is back on sale in a more wintery hue. Get a leather one in brown, black or petrol blue, or try a leather and felt mix in grey and black. Starting from £79.99 this is probably the cheapest It bag you can get your hands on, as yet the quality will not make you regret your decision. And if you have your heart set on it, hurry up, it will not be around for long (the black crocodile print bag is already sold out)!
House Of Dereon Lands in UK
November 21, 2011 § Leave a comment
No, I am not talking about flying houses like the one in the cartoon UP. House of Dereon is an American brand established in 2004 by famous singer Beyonce and her mother Tina Knowles (known for styling Beyonce and other members on Destiny’s Child) and now it is finally available in our country.
The brand is intergenerationally inspired – Beyonce acts as a muse, Tina Knowles as a designer and her late mother Agnes Dereon who worked as a seamstress and dressmaker in Louisiana as an inspiration. Targeting 20-30 year old fashionable women (that is their own positioning, I on the other hand do not believe that fashion needs to be age-specific) the brand provides a range of sexy dresses and other outfits that would make your fashion choices for a night out on the town easy.
In my opinion even if House of Dereon was not Beyonce-related I would love the collection. It is feminine and definitely sexy – who would not want a piece from their collection, especially now that we are all thinking about holiday season outfits?
Above are two of my favourite dresses from the collection: Shimmer Strap Bodycon Dress in Gold £90-£100 and Assymetric Mini Dress £80. I would also like to add sequin pieces from the collection to my wishlist: I love waterfall blazer (£110) and a wrap front skirt (£75) especially since both come in a choice of black and gold colours. See the whole range in the special concession at London Selfridges, online at http://www.selfridges.com and http://www.lipsy.com.
Little tip, if you are shopping online try Lipsy as the prices are up to 10% lower and you will be able to get free delivery on orders over £75 with a special code: AW11SHIPPING but not all items are available at both e-locations.
The Must-Have Want-Now Can’t-Live Without Shoes
November 18, 2011 § 2 Comments
Kandee Shoes. If you haven’t yet heard of them – learn this name.
Established in 2010 the aim of the designer Josh Wayman (who is 21 years old by the way, massive oh my god moment) is to create eye-candy shoes, which he has succeeded at doing – every pair is delicious and absolutely fabulous. The brand already has a large celebrity following: Cheryl Cole, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Victoria Beckham to name a few. But even though A-listers wear it – the shoes are still accessible (price wise) for the high street lovers.
So ladies, time to add a new name to the wishlist. And a new pair of shoes to our shoe closet (you will probably end up with more though, they are irresistible). Go to http://www.kandeeshoes.com to see the full range.
The Royal Tulisa
November 16, 2011 § Leave a comment

Tulisa Contostavlos, one of this years new X-Factor judges, is nowadays unrecognisable. Long gone is the urban hip hop band member attitude and with that the corresponding fashion choices. Now this young lady is dressed impeccably and gives fellow judge Kelly Rowland run for her money.
And one thing Tulisa is doing to up her fashion credit (as in direct opposite to street credit) is choosing the right designers to be associated with. This week everyone is talking about her loyalty to Bruce Oldfield, whose stunning creations she worn twice on the show. Let me tell you, when you wear a dress like that you are not just wearing a dress, you project the vision of the designer and the symbolism of his creations. And Bruce Oldfield comes with a lot of symbolism as his dresses have been worn by Royals from all around the world (including the Queen herself) and happy brides on their biggest day in their life (the bridal collection is to die for, go to http://www.bruceoldfield.com/bridal/range/couture and indulge your hidden desires to be a bride, whether or not it is on the cards in the near future).
Back to the lady of the hour – she doesn’t just look stunning, she looks magnificently royal without letting us forget that she is young and sexy. So if you are asking yourself how is this connected to My Fashion Wishlist, here is the answer – I want to look stunning, magnificently royal and sexy at the same time, too. So Bruce Oldfield Couture is right on my wishlist!
The Headband of Power

The Gossip Girl TV series is back with new season.
You may not watch or love the show as much as I do but all would agree – the styling of the girls impeccable, and it is all thanks to Eric Daman. There has been some cast reshuffling before the season and while we are told that Taylor Momsen’s character – Jenny Humphrey moved to London to attend Central Saint Martins, Taylor herself has launched a full blown music career.
And while Gossip Girl proceeds without Little J I can not help myself but add THE item of her wardrobe from previous seasons to my wishlist. It is a Jennifer Behr Crystal Encrusted Headband that Jenny got as a symbol of power over her high school friends. And of course real life is not like high school, but I feel empowered with such a big and sparkly accessory on my head. Plus it is as close as you can get to wearing a tiara in public (obviously if you are older than 7 it is not recommended that you wear one outside your bedroom).
You can purchase the headband and all the associated feelings for £600 from http://www.sophiescloset.com
Celebrity Dress For a Fraction of the Price
September 21, 2011 § 2 Comments
Scarlett Johansson has been my celebrity style crush for a while. So while checking out one of my favourite ‘as seen on stars’ websites – http://www.mcberry.co.uk I came across the Glamorous Lace Dress section. And a few have been inspired by Scarlett!
Here is my pick – the green lacy strapless number (only my favourite dress shape of all time). Plus its green and lacy which goes very well with A/W 11 trends! Grazia team loves it too and featured it in their magazine. So if you want to boost your star power visit the website where this dress is available at £85.
The Star of Dolce & Gabbana
August 8, 2011 § Leave a comment
Star print is back. Which is great because I have a perfect star print summer dress somewhere in the depths of my closet. And after hearing that heat wave is back in UK this weekend its time to call in a search team!
This particular star print dress by Dolce & Gabbana is a star on its own. Jessie J appeared in it on the cover of this month’s Cosmopolitan magazine. Fergie of Black Eyed Piece just wore a variation of it to Teen Choice Award. And I was mesmerised by it walking past the brand’s store on Sloane Street. It’s so simple yet will make you stand out. Add a few colourful accessories and you are sorted.
Available at http://www.matchesfashion.com for £780. Would never style it with the same shoes they did on the website though, this dress is not made for simple black courts, even if they are Christian Louboutin simple black courts.
