Close your eyes and imagine what really cool urban fashion looks like right now. (Now open them and carry on reading.) Nowadays the coolest items out there are covered in studs, are pastel, have a bit of dip/tie dye thing going on and are either cropped or totally oversized (perfect length and fit are so not in). And surprise surprise there is just the brand that this season has put all of those elements together and created the most perfect on trend denim collection ever. Meet The Ragged Priest.

I noticed the brand last season – wool jumpers patched up with studded leather, dark colours and a lot of denim looked interesting. But it was not until a few months ago, once revealing S/S12 collection Ragged Priest exploded – all the cool girls in town are wearing it and our favourite celebrity crushes are promoting the brand world wide (think about studded pieces Rihanna and Jessy J wore recently and chances are they were created by this brand).

But the coolness does not stop there – each piece starts off as a vintage items that is transformed to its new look (you can so steal some of the creative ideas for DIY fashion) making the exact size/colour/pattern more or less unique. And the prices are totally cool as well – completely in the high street range despite being way cooler (pardon my slight obsession with how cool this brand is).

Believe It Or Not: Trendy Backpacks

Backpacks. They have been off the fashion radar for a while but due to their functionality have remained an essential item for many despite lack of trendiness. Indeed if you have a lot on your shoulders (pardon the pun) backpacks allow you to spread the weight – hence they are perfect for things like hiking (I am not going to expand on the topic, hiking/camping and other outside activities have never been my thing). And despite some people’s aversion towards this type of bag, even a few celebrities known for their style choices have been spotted with backpacks repeatedly. For example Rihanna who changes hair colour every other week (I’m not judging, I wish I could pull off just as many shades) has surprisingly remained true to backpacks as you could see on the pictures below.

But we all know – fashion trends rarely engage themselves with notions of utility. This season though is an exception. Backpacks suddenly became the hottest way to carry your essentials and have been spotted on catwalks of major designers ever since Spring Summer 12 shows. And fashion’s sudden love of backpacks might be slowly making my heart melt towards them- and to prove it I found a selection of backpacks I would not mind having. To tell you the truth even though I do consider some designer backpacks quite cool (I am not completely turned) I would not pay for its hefty price tag even if money was not an option (The Row, £2635 for example) because at the end of the day – it is still a backpack (all horrible images of what camping must be like flood my head).

I Wear My Sunglasses At Night

Actually I don’t. But as time progresses towards summer London is getting more and more sunny days, hence it is time to have a look what sunglasses designers created for us to choose from. D frames are once again trending, but there are lots of other shapes to choose from, if you are not a fan. Below are my top 9 sunglasses from this season – from D frames to round, this range has all those classic must haves by top eyewear brands.

The Must-Have Want-Now Can’t-Live Without Shoes

Kandee Shoes. If you haven’t yet heard of them – learn this name.

Established in 2010 the aim of the designer Josh Wayman (who is 21 years old by the way, massive oh my god moment) is to create eye-candy shoes, which he has succeeded at doing – every pair is delicious and absolutely fabulous. The brand already has a large celebrity following: Cheryl Cole, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Victoria Beckham to name a few. But even though A-listers wear it – the shoes are still accessible (price wise) for the high street lovers.

We Are Handsome

Lucky me – I’m going on an amazing holiday in two and a half weeks. And since it is still August I am sure I am not alone in searching the web for the best swim suits out there that can make me look better than all my friends who have already taken their summer breaks and brought back tons of pictures to flaunt. Well, I found it!

First of all this summer is all about wearing one piece swim suits. No you can’t get a good tan in them but wow you can look fabulous even if you had a large taste of foreign cuisine the night before. And clearly a one piece swimsuit winner has to be We Are Handsome. Luxurious fabrics, beautiful colours and prints that will make you stand out of the crowd – no wonder celebrities love it! Rihanna was wearing Protector style on her Caribbean holiday and she looked fab!
