The Hardest Fashion Choice?
October 21, 2011 § Leave a comment
For a fashion lover and shopaholic the statement I am about to make expresses the highest degree of commitment (something like eternal love): If I was to only wear handbags from one brand for the rest of my life I would choose Mulberry, with very little hesitation.
And this season only helped to shape my feelings towards it. Mulberry keeps moving at the speed of light – new shapes, textures, colours appear on weekly basis, I simply can not keep up with all the new releases. The new bag which came out today is the Fox Lock Bag (not pictured above). And it is not like I do not love it, I do, it is just there have been so many new arrivals that I just had to take a second, look over the whole season and select my favourites! So here you go, the list of bags I would love to get my hands on:
1. Alexa Deer Brown Quilted Napa, £885. Love the new texture and matching quilted postman lock features.
2. Tillie Midnight Croc Print Suede, £895. In love with the bag shape – great contemporary satchel and if you like your black bags, this texture will spice up the day to day colour.
3. Buckle Bag in Midnight Two Tone Lambskin, £885. New shape alert! An interesting update to original Alexa’s leather straps are replaced by metal – possibly more practical but definitely very cool.
As you realise I missed out the new reincarnations of Bayswater and Lily as well as brand new Push Lock and Taylor, but I just had to limit myself, otherwise yes – I would not mind every one of them. Told you I am a shopaholic!
High Street Ankle Boots To Die For
October 20, 2011 § 1 Comment
Ankle boots are the most multifunctional shoe style for autumn as they take you from day to night. While scanning the usual suspects of high street retailing I picked out my 3 favourite styles that won’t blow your bank. Here they are:
1. Topshop Absinthe Metal High Heel Boots in black for £80. Love the chunky heel – great for toughening up girly outfits for a high fashioned look. Plus super comfortable for round the clock wear.
2. KG Ellison Multicoloured Ankle Boots are currently on sale for just £89 (were £150). Colourful and a lot of fun – just what you eed to brighten up grey autumn days.
3. River Island Dark Green Platform Ankle Boots for £100 – a perfect colour for this autumn. It is all in the detail – woven strap with metal buckle and large stitches make it stand out.
What Topshop Got Right

Well, Topshop gets a lot of things right, let’s not question that. But out of the whole range it has provided us this Autumn (and admittedly as a king of fast fashion it has given us a massive amount to choose from), there is one particular thing that sticks out as ‘spot on’. And that is the beautiful print dresses.
Here I want to highlight two dresses that epitomise this year’s fabulous Topshop design – Wallpaper Ombre Midi Shirt Dress and Multi Animal Print Ombre Dress (£80 ans £50 respectively). If you only buy two things from the store, stick to these – they are what I call the ‘easy to wear’ pieces meaning once you put them on you do not have to spend much time on picking the right shoes or doing your hair – anything will go because these dresses already make the outfit on their own. Hence, easy to wear!
Design Your Own Ring!
October 17, 2011 § 2 Comments
Ever dreamed of designing your own jewellery? Daisy, jewellery brand more known for its Chakra Bracelets, allows you to! Go online to create your perfect stack ring by choosing out of a whole range of band rings. It is fun and allows you to express your individuality! Select from a choice of gold and silver bands: plain, engraved, with pearls, with multicoloured stones or with animals and flowers.
Above is the stack I created using their clever design tool. From top to bottom the names of each band ring are as follows: Voile, Chintz, London Eye, Nutmeg and Chino. Some are currently on sale which means my 5-band stack ring is only £183. Visit http://www.daisyjewellery.com and play around! Happy stacking!
Let’s Go Ethnic!

Ethnic prints are everywhere. I bet you have already noticed the ladies (and the gentlemen) of fashion adopt the trend – Chloe Sevigny, Leighton Meester and Rihanna to name a few.
For me there is one fashion brand that hit the nail on the head particularly well – Proenza Schouler. From its reincarnation of PS1 bag in ethnic print to dresses, skirts, jumpers and any other garment you can think of – the label is rocking the ethnic trend! And if you can afford the prices, you will be absolutely spoiled for choice.
But, this blog post is about finding the trendy pieces without blowing your bank. Here is my top 3 picks:
1. Multi Print One shoulder Maxi dress, £68 from Topshop.
2. Sale item, ASOS Ikat Leggings for just £12.
3. Lykke Navaho Pussybow Blouse from boohoo.com for £20.
Happy Weekend Shopping!
Zara’s Little Sister We Can Not Wait to Meet
October 14, 2011 § 2 Comments

There is just too much excitement about Uterque coming to UK. Indeed, Zara’s little sister has big shoes to fill, and knowing how good the marketing team behind it is, there is hardly any doubt of its success.
While Britain is waiting to hear about the locations for the new stores, we get to check out the products online. And the range is great – the new brand is luxurious and focuses mostly on high quality leather good. So here is my pick of the ultimate bag(large leather envelope clutch), a pair of shoes (Trekking ankle boots with heels for £135) and an accessory to die for(Floral print foulard with double border for £64.90). My advice – get something soon, before all your friends do!
The Fashionable Way To Go About Halloween
October 12, 2011 § Leave a comment
You do not have to purchase a fancy dress costume to look fantastic on Halloween. Sometimes it is possible to find a few pieces at your normal shopping destination. Here is my example that will hopefully encourage you to look around for unique outfits. And since you put it together yourself there is no danger of someone arriving to the party wearing exactly the same costume.
I remembered that this summer feathers were very popular during the festival season, so I decided to look for a native American looking head piece and create an outfit around it. After a quick search I came across this wonderful Elmstone Peacock Feather Crown on http://www.pretaportobello.com available for £38. And a browse through Asos for anything ‘fringe’ revealed a few pages of results, my favourite of which is this Reverse Kaftan at £55.
So after deciding which of the available trends I can covert into a Halloween costume it did not take long before I was ready for the party. And with these types of outfits – you can wear individual pieces more than once! Also if you find yourself the only dressed up person in the room, by simply removing the head piece you turn from the Queen of Halloween to fashionista – especially with this techno-ethnic print kaftan.
Set your imagination free!
Are you having a TRASHY Halloween?
October 12, 2011 § 2 Comments
Let me start by clarifying – Trashy is an amazing lingerie and sexy fancy dress brand from Los Angeles. I fell in love with their costumes while getting ready for last year’s Halloween when I stumbled across their brand at Angel’s, London’s biggest fancy dress store. The costumes fit perfectly and looked amazing – I loved them so much I went to visit their store while in Los Angeles. And they did not disappoint!
Most costumes are made to order and cost around $300 (£200) but currently online it is possible to purchase already made costumes that you will receive in time for Halloween. They are also selling bargain costumes that have been imported into US but were made from the original designs. Those start at just $60 (£40).
The choice is astonishing – from birds to princesses and from maids to sailors. And the best thing about them – they are by far the sexiest Halloween costumes you can ever get your hands on (just look at all the celebrities that chose the brand). Good luck making your pick!
