TRELLIS – The Clever Jewellery

October 11, 2011 § Leave a comment

In my previous two blog posts I wrote about my love for interchangeable pouches for Charlotte Olympia clutch and my current obsession with statement jewellery. Well, this blog post is about absolutely stunning earrings that combine both of those passions.

First of all these earrings are completely interchangeable.  You can choose your own center plate from a range of metals and coloured enamels like rose gold and black enamel on the pictures above. You can also select the drops to add to the earrings – pearl, citrine, rose quartz and many more. The earrings look great even without the central plate! So as you can imagine I am absolutely in love with the flexibility of this piece of jewellery – you simply would not need any other earrings and you can adjust them for any outfit or occasion. Also it is a big saving – you only have to purchase the diamond encrusted base once.

And secondly (not that the first point is not enough already) these earrings make a statement and will easily be the center of an outfit – you would not need any other jewellery either.

So, who makes these beautiful and very clever earrings? Lisa Abrahmsohn, an experienced and passionate London based designer and a founder of a jewellery brand TRELLIS. Visit their website http://www.trellisjewellery.com to see other clever jewellery and find out more about these Paisley earrings. (The completed Paisley Rose Gold earrings on the picture above are £5,275).

Make A Statement

Big statement jewellery is currently a very fashionable way to brighten and spice up Autumn days. My obsession is Tom Binns. Each piece from the collection made with Swarovski crystals draws maximum attention. The range consists of ‘big’ necklaces, bracelets and earrings with prices from £180. The bright neon colours are present throughout the collection and since neons are currently trending it means Tim Binns does not just make jewellery, but creates fashion items.

In particular I am absolutely in love with these ethnic hand painted Swarovski crystal earrings. Apart from being a center piece of any outfit they also fit well with the ethnic trend of this season. Available for £225 from http://www.net-a-porter.com.

The Only Clutch You Will Ever Need

October 6, 2011 § Leave a comment

Well it is not the only one you will EVER need, but it is probably the most adaptable evening bag ever made. And it has been on my mental wish list for a while but it keeps selling out too fast each time it is back in stock.

This is Charlotte Olympia Pandora Clutch with three exchangeable pouches that fit inside a see-through plastic case. The brand is super famous for outrageous and extremely stylish shoe range, but this bag is proving to be a competitor for the most inventive Charlotte Olympia item ever made.

For £439 you get three different clutches – definitely worth it! The only bad thing about this clutch – it will be hard to make up your mind about which one to wear today!

The Coolest Item this Autumn

October 6, 2011 § Leave a comment

I can not take my eyes of this oversized burgundy coloured Acne leather vest. It ticks all the boxes – burgundy is a very hot colour right now, leather is very in, Acne is a cool brand, and oversized is the right style this autumn.

And the best thing – there are so many items you can wear it with – jeans, maxi skirts, turtle necks, printed tees, plain tops and even jumpers. I would put on skinny jeans with cashmere jumper to create an interesting texture combination as well as a very comfy autumn look.

Purchase from http://www.net-a-porter.com for £1390 (investment piece indeed as you will get a lot of wear out of this multifunctional item).

The IT Fabric of the Season

If you are not wearing it yet, you are too far behind. Seriously.

It’s Velvet. Very old fashioned I hear you say? Well in fashion it all comes back around. And yes I agree, I am not fashionista enough to engulf myself in velvet from head to toe either. And if you do not have a velvet skirt or cardigan lying around than follow my lead and select garments with hint of velvet.

Like this beautiful Asos shirt with velvet trim and crystal embellished collar (attention is on the collar as well – another trend box this shirt ticks). I am wearing one right now. And my advise – make it more decent by adding a black tank top or camisole underneath. That way you can wear it to work too!

Purchase it from http://www.asos.com for £40.

Green-up your interior

October 6, 2011 § Leave a comment

I always find it hard to find decorative items for my flat that won’t make me sick after a few weeks. When you are around objects all day everyday they need to ‘fit’. Plus if you are young and live in the city, chances are you do not have much space for expressing your identity.

So here is a perfect cardboard moose. First of all you can dress it up any way you like (and store some of your accessories on it when you are out of space). Hence you won’t get bored of it. Secondly it is not just any moose, it is cardboard, which is different and cool. And cool is pretty much the main statement we want to make about ourselves to our guests. And third its ‘green’ (well recycled) so you can feel good about your purchase.

And yes, even though elements of decor are usually not a part of my blog, I just can not help myself but put some really worthy items in. Available from http://www.fashion-conscience.com for £29.

My Fashion Wishlist from NY Fashion Week Spring/Summer 12

September 29, 2011 § Leave a comment

NY fashion week is over, hence its time to go though catwalk shows selecting designers whose items just have to go on My Fashion Wishlist. And of course being a shopaholic I have to limit myself – so only 5 will make the cut.

1. Jason Wu. Because I can see myself wearing each one of the pieces from his ready-to-wear line. Black, blue, lime, coral pink, white, that mixture screams spring but in a very sophisticated way. And the full skirt floor-length gowns that emerged towards the end of the show – I can wear them to my own wedding. Yes, they are that special.

2. Thakoon. Because it was exciting. The shows was full of magnificent colours, patterns and ornaments. And to top it off models were wearing cowboy hats. As you do. A.W.E.S.O.M.E.

3. Carolina Herrera. For staying true to the Lady-like Elegance but making it fresh. Plus The Green Birds pattern looked wonderful – other designers featured bird patterns but for me it is a clear winner.

4. Prabal Gurung. For magical royal purple digital prints that I could not take my eyes of. And cut out dresses that I love for being extremely naughty without going too far.

5. Oscar de la Renta. Because it was all over the place. From day wear to evening gowns, from modern to medieval and from full parachute skirts to skinny leg trousers. And just because of that each design was unexpected, special and made me hold my breath!

The Headband of Power

September 28, 2011 § Leave a comment

The Gossip Girl TV series is back with new season.

You may not watch or love the show as much as I do but all would agree – the styling of the girls impeccable, and it is all thanks to Eric Daman. There has been some cast reshuffling before the season and while we are told that Taylor Momsen’s character – Jenny Humphrey moved to London to attend Central Saint Martins, Taylor herself has launched a full blown music career.

And while Gossip Girl proceeds without Little J I can not help myself but add THE item of her wardrobe from previous seasons to my wishlist. It is a Jennifer Behr Crystal Encrusted Headband that Jenny got as a symbol of power over her high school friends. And of course real life is not like high school, but I feel empowered with such a big and sparkly accessory on my head. Plus it is as close as you can get to wearing a tiara in public (obviously if you are older than 7 it is not recommended that you wear one outside your bedroom).

You can purchase the headband and all the associated feelings for £600 from http://www.sophiescloset.com

The Must-Have Cape

September 26, 2011 § Leave a comment

There is one trend this autumn that is making me very happy. The cape is back. Last time capes were really ‘in’, it was 2008. And by the time I bought a perfect Thomas Burberry one (yes that Burberry line that was stopped for underperforming in recession in 2009) the capes were already ‘out’.

So now that it seems we have at least a season to run around the city wearing one I dug out my classic dark grey wool cape that has been patiently waiting for its moment to shine. And if you do not keep clothes around for as long as me you should invest into one. How about this Burberry Brit cape available from net-a-porter for £595?

Best Vintage Find of the Month

September 21, 2011 § Leave a comment

Vintage. You either love it or hate it. But one thing everyone must absolutely love is vintage jewellery. Especially if it is of a Chanel kind.

I just came across these beautiful Chanel Vintage Turnlock earrings and here I go, sharing my find with you (I could have cheekily kept it to myself).

You can get them in 2 sizes, Classic and Jumbo for £290 and £365 respectively. The place to go to is http://www.shopatsophiescloset.com, which apart from a hand picked vintage selection stocks a whole range of other sparkly modern pieces of jewelery and if it is not enough have a look through various headbands – that section surely should be called Blair Waldorf’s closet. Enjoy!
