The Hottest Affordable Jewelery
May 2, 2012 § Leave a comment
Twitter is great. Especially when it connects you to things you are interested it. Just yesterday I came across Regal Rose jewellery on twitter and I could not wait to share it with you. I am not their first fashion fan – indeed their jewellery has been featured in various fashion magazines over the years including InStyle, Cosmopolitan, More, Now, Ok and The Observer. There is an obvious reason why – it is hot trendy and super fashionable without the hefty price tag! And its all thanks to wonderfully creative twin sisters – Rebecca and Louisa Warwick who set up the brand in 2008 and follow all the trends that inspire their great collection! Below are my favourite pieces from the website, but there is so much more for you to discover! Just visit regalrose.co.uk!
- Molly Large Acrylics Collar – probably the most important accessory of past year, £29
- Alexa Chunky Gold Chain – the affordable version of hot accessory I previously blogged about here, £16
- The Punk Collar – the black version, absolutely a must have, £17
- Mento Green Crystal Ring – the cocktail ring, totally trending as blogged about here, £22
- Lana fine Silver Chain Ring – possibly named after Lana Del Rey as she is a fan of double rings, £24
- Kesi Agate Stone Cuff – statement piece that adds the needed fashion factor to any outfit, £14
- Siew Fluorescent Yellow Earrings – bright colours are totally this season, so add some as your ear pieces, £23
- Keira Full Spiked Ear Cuff – the rock chic accessory, £14
The IT Dress
May 1, 2012 § 1 Comment
There were once It bags, now there are It dresses. And this season it is Stella McCartney cut out dresses that have completely won over the fashion world and celebrities alike. Indeed the dress was chosen for Sienna Miller April cover of Vogue, and if the fashion bible gives their approval who are we to argue otherwise.
But what makes it so special you might ask? First of all I believe the right amount and position of cut outs, especially if they are artistically shaped like these ones, add massive sex appeal to the outfit without making it, well, slutty. And who does not want to be the right amount of sexy? Secondly the print clash is a hot trend this season and Stella has done here so well! And thirdly there are so many shape and colour possibilities (it’s more of an It dress range than an It dress per se) anyone can find just the right one to suit their shape.
And celebrities were quick to demonstrate all the possibilities – Rumer Willis wore it in maxi length, Gwyneth Paltrow chose an asymmetrical mini version, Brooklyn Decker graced London’s Battleship photo-call in a mini style (completely outshining her co-star Rihanna I must admit), Leann Rhymes and Nicole Kidman went for the burgundy print versions in different lengths while Miranda Kerr shined in all black edition. And I am sure those are not the only celebrities that will be seen wearing Spring/Summer 12 McCartney creations – sexy, figure hugging and oh-so-stylish – appearing in one of those guarantees the place on the best dressed list (maybe without the black batwing cardigan sported by Rumer).
The problem is, for most of us the dresses are completely unobtainable as they cost a few months rent (could not avoid the comparison, my idol Carrie Bradshaw always calculates rent payment equivalent for shoe prices). The ‘cheapest’ one I found is £2,195 with prices climbing by over 150% for the most expensive. (In case you are planning to purchase one I suggest possibly staying away from net-a-porter and choosing other online or brick and mortar retailers as the prices for the dresses are significantly higher there). Below are my online finds – as expected in all shapes and shades!
- £2,745 at mytheresa.com
- £3,645 at net-a-porter.com
- £3,225 at net-a-porter.com
- £2,195 at matchesfashion.com
- £2,865 at harveynichols.com
Guest Blogger: Alexandra Jacobs on Spring/Summer Hamptons Style
April 30, 2012 § Leave a comment
A travel enthusiast Alexandra writes about tourism, beaches, food and the wonderful things in the world. In this article she describes how Hamptons style serves as her fashion inspiration for the current season. Follow her at @alexsjourneys or visit her blog alexsjourneys.wordpress.com.
Fashion during the warm months is bright and cheerful, light and carefree. When inspiration for personal style is taken from a destination like the Hamptons, it is easy to transition from the cool, fresh weather of spring to the hot and sunny days of summer. Nautical inspired fashion is practical and comfortable, as easy to carry from day to night as to adjust for temperature changes. Though comfort is the main benefit, classy style takes center stage. When you are lounging in your hamptons home in the summer, this inspired look is relaxed, chic, timeless and easy to wear.
With an atmosphere of sea breezes, bright sunshine and casual elegance to inspire a wardrobe, the result is stunning, natural and effortless. Simplicity is predominant, from the cleanly cut shapes of each garment to the dramatic colors and minimal patterns to the crisp natural fabrics like linen, cotton and silk. The shape of each outfit is an important part of nautical fashion, with a clearly defined, graceful and flattering figure. The relaxed, classy style makes the clear simplicity interesting without lots of details, and relies and dramatic color to make statements. Pure white, all shades of ocean blues, bright red, crisp black, earthy sand colors are all favorites in nautical fashion. While patterns in general don’t play a big part, stripes in all sizes and pairings of colors are stunning. Natural fabrics paired with basic elemental accessories, like leather shoes and belts and brass jewelry is one of the main charms of the Hamptons style.
Every wardrobe style needs staple pieces. Hamptons fashion is no exception. A pair of tailored, dark jeans, sleek white trousers and a couple plain pencil skirts take care of the bottom half of the staple pieces. For on top, have some basic tailored blouses and tee shirts, especially in plain colors and stripes, cardigans to make those cold weather transitions easy, a striking, fitted blazer and a classic khaki trench coat. Top it off with a couple dresses for both daytime and evening, in plain white, chambray or elegant navy and unique, personal accessories. With this basic backbone for the wardrobe; an entire look can be created by mixing and matching pieces.
Making the change from spring to summer is easy. Wear blazers and cardigans with tee shirts, blouses and dresses until the heat arrives, and then leave them behind. Change up the accessories, and the transition is complete. A good trench coat is a must when vacationing by the water or simply traveling through spring. It provides warmth when cold wind hits and can be left behind when the sun comes out.
The skeleton of a nautical wardrobe is basic, working for both casual and dressy. Whether an outfit needs to be dressed up for a business meeting or for evening, small changes are all that are needed. Sandals, jeans, a striped tee and a blazer are perfect for running errands. To dress it up for dinner out with friends, change into pumps and white trousers and switch earrings. A morning at the beach can be spent in a long sundress and just slip on a pair of heels, nice jewelry and a fancy up-do for the evening. Hamptons inspired fashion is relaxed and eternally classy on every occasion.

The Perfect Sport Luxe Bag
April 26, 2012 § 1 Comment
I am absolutely in love with this Diane Von Furstenberg Sporty New Drew bag! At the first look it seems luxurious with its exotic skin embossed leather but with the addition of neon pink strap it acquires currently trending sport luxe feel. This is by far the best handbag interpretation of the trend I have seen so far! Hats off for DVF for getting it so right and making it so desirable. Indeed the fashion house has been going through serious rebranding for a number of years – once famous in 70’s for feminine printed wrap dresses it has once again risen to the fashion heights it deserves becoming a lifestyle brand that offers a wide range of goods from ready-to-wear collections to home accessories! And this bag with its youthful and on-trend approach is another great example of the success story of rebirth of DVF! Purchase your own from dvf.com or matchesfashion.com for £654.

Diamonds are the girl’s best friend, sang Marylin. And this Hong Kong born, Saint Martins educated jewellery designer agrees! After studying gemmology her fascination with diamond cutting process inspired designs of her London made jewellery label that pays a tribute to the special form of carbon. Cute, stylish and very interesting indeed! And where can you purchase them, you might ask? On Myflashtrash.com of course – online jewellery store ran by ex-Made in Chelsea actress Amber Atherton. If this is what she quit the scripted reality show for then hats of to the girl, she is doing a brilliant job and if you haven’t already do look around the website, there are so many hidden gems waiting discovery!
- Diamond Trillion Charm Ring, £140
- Diamond Cage Ring, £182

Rupert Sanderson Sample Sale Alert
April 23, 2012 § Leave a comment
I love the idea of sample sales but 90% of times I attend, I leave disappointed – the availability and state of the items are unsatisfactory even for samples. But one sample sale that I really enjoyed was Rupert Sanderson, where I bagged myself 2 pairs of animal print shoes seen on the picture above. And now that I have received an invitation to another one of their sales, I could not keep it to myself – this is a must event if you are in London and love the brand! To gain access print the picture below – from my experience you might not need it, but to be on the safer side do! See you all there!
P.S. Organisers refer to it as first REAL sample sale. Indeed it is the first event of this kind the team at Rupert Sanderson are organising themselves, and hopefully it will be just as great if not better!
Cheryl’s Style
April 22, 2012 § 4 Comments
I’m slightly excited about Cheryl Cole’s return with her new album. Not because of the music she will be bringing out, but because she is coming back to spot light and I have indeed missed my favourite clothes horse. And that is compliment. Her petite figure and natural beauty allows her to pull off practically anything and makes me (and I am sure many more like me) lust after every single thing she wears.
Last week sneak peak shots of her new video flooded the web and I could not be happier with what she is wearing: mixing up patterns, tropical prints and neon – she is ticking every trend box. Indeed it did not take me long to find pieces she was wearing, and all the fans with money to spend can easily get their hands on the outfit at net-a-porter.com!

On the picture above she is dressed in Finch tropical-print cotton-blend blazer by Altuzarra(£1040), Dolce & Gabbana leopard-print high-wasted bikini briefs (£150) and Brian Atwood Alima neon patent-leather pumps (£670). So if you have £1860 lying around you can steal her style, something that does not happen often with stars in music videos who often get pieces designed just for them.

But of course I would not tempt you with high price items without providing an affordable alternative. I searched the high street for similar pieces and here they are: Topshop tropical floral blazer (£65), Motel high waist hot pants (£20 at Asos) and Office Krazy paving neon heels (£78). Grab an outfit inspire by Cheryl for more affordable £163!
Bejeweled
April 18, 2012 § Leave a comment
Out of all the jewellery out there, my biggest obsession is by far bracelets. And once again I found myself lusting after new addition to Anthropologie.eu – bejeweled leather Fori bracelets by Italian designer brand Rada. Crystals, stones and beads are glamorous by nature but here are juxtaposed with simple clasp and utilitarian leather base. And I think that is exactly what makes me love them – simplicity and extravagance side by side never looked so tempting! It is definitely hard to make decision on what version I prefer: multi-coloured is the most versatile yet yellow and orange add the ultimate colour burst to any outfit. Due to multipurposeness (I am not sure that is even a word but adding -ness at the end makes sense, right?) of multi-colour creation it gets my top pick! Make your choice and head to Anthropologie website to purchase yours for £118.
Work Your Statement Shoe
April 17, 2012 § 1 Comment
I love shoes. A lot. And all of my friends share, if not exceed the love towards them so I am beginning to wonder if there is something in our female DNA that makes us lust after footwear. Probably not, though…
Whether scientific or merely culturally developed I am sure the female half of the population would find those two pairs extremely desirable. That’s what statement shoes should look like – add them to any outfit and watch it transform from day-to-day to uber-stylish in a blink of a eye. Think of Carrie Bradshaw from SATC – don’t be afraid to mismatch them to the rest of the outfit for even bigger impact. The hardest choice would be which colour to go for! Purchase these Player Cut Out Sandals at Topshop for £85.
Benedetta Bruzziches
April 13, 2012 § Leave a comment
I love discovering new brands. And this week my find came from thecorner.com. There I came across an Italian bag range created by a talented lady Benedetta Bruzziches whose sewing techniques passed down to her from her mother (I am always in awe of craftsman families who preserve their skills for generations to come).
My pick from the collection are two beautiful and perfectly crafted leather bags (£520 each) – completely identical in shape the two could not be less similar in their feel. Moss green bag on the left has a vintage feel and reminds me of luxurious upholstered and quilted sofas from late 18th century while bright snake skin bag on the left could not be more contemporary – it fits well with current season’s trend of bright and patterns!
Here is my find of the week! Have you discovered a new brand worth sharing recently? If so comment below, I will blog about it and give you a special shout out!
